First Working Meeting on preparation of Rules of Procedure for Basic Court Judges in cases of domestic violence

On May 17, the first working meeting for preparation of Rules of Procedure for civil law judges proceeding in cases for issuing temporary protection measures against domestic violence. Representatives of Association ESE, civil law judges from the Basic Courts in Skopje, Tetovo and Radovish, as well as a former judge from the Skopje Court of Appeal, are participating in the process. During the first meeting, the identified shortcomings in the court proceedings of this kind, i.e. the problems faced by the victims during the initiation of the court proceedings and the solutions to overcome these problems, were discussed in detail. In the following period, two more working meetings will be organized, after which the prepared rules of procedure will be subject to wider consideration and adoption within the basic courts.
